Putting Faith Into Practice

This was to be my first post. A post about adoption and the great things God is doing. But Friday was an incredible day, a day we won't soon forget. A day we had lots of opportunity to trust. To trust in the One who gives life and takes life away. The One who said, "I will never leave you, nor forsake you." Today was a day to put our faith into practice.

God was there. Big-bro could have been hurt badly, could have been run over by a semi-truck, could have gone to be with the Lord; but instead he evaded the impeding pavement and only incurred a four inch cut. 15 stitches later he hobbled gingerly out of the hospital. The bike is fine, his leg isn't broken.

Miracles upon miracles because the lady driving behind him on the turn, (where he clipped the foot peg and lost control of the motorcycle), was an EMT. She checked him out, took my son's phone and called me to let me know what happened. Another woman also stopped and called the ambulance. Isn't that just like God to be there in everything we do, even riding to work! and to bless us with the actions of special people. (Thank you Jody the EMT! and the other woman!)

Thank you Lord for guarding Big-bro and giving him more time on this earth.

Thank you for giving us an opportunity to put our faith into practice.

"For I know Whom I have believed, and I am convinced that He is able TO GUARD what I have entrusted to Him until that day." 2 Tim 1:12

  2. HI. I just hopped on your blog after seeing you got your TA. We are also an AWAA family, hoping to travel next month. :) I was reminded of God's awesome faithfulness and mercy as I saw the pictures of your sons accident. Our son was in a roll over car accident when he fell asleep driving home from a game, and his life was spared! God was watching over him that night, because if you look at the car...he never should have walked away. We serve an AWESOME God, and I am grateful for each day we have with our kids! Can't wait to follow your trip! Congratulations.
